This project is a two-level renovation of a printing factory / loft space in the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan.
The Pen in and Brush Foundation is a 130-year-old nonprofit organization provides a platform for women, non-binary, and female-identified transgender artists and writers to showcase their work, striving to create real change within the marketplace.
Pen and Brush has a rich history of supporting artists and writers, with notable milestones including launching its own literary magazine, “Pen + Brush In Print,” which offers a platform for women writers to share their voices. The organization has also hosted numerous successful exhibitions, such as “The Now: Fever Dreams,” showcasing diverse and contemporary artwork by female artists (Pen and Brush) (Pen and Brush).
Their efforts have garnered recognition and support, allowing them to expand their impact and continue to advocate for gender parity in the arts. This includes hosting events, publishing works, and offering professional development opportunities for emerging artists.
